I'm using the widget to display images on my sidebar, and Instead of using a thumbnail, I want to use a cropped section of the actual image. How would I go about doing that?

On the new version of the sidebar widget you can pick to crop horizontally or vertically or both which is what I would recommend so it looks neat.
