Well, to be clearer, I'm not actually interested in having your font, your colors, your header or your graphics.
I just want a theme with a sidebar on the left that will show the most recent 6 or eight photo thumbnails posted in the posts. I haven't seen any examples of this except on your site. No matter what theme I start with, I'm going to tweak it until it matches my existing site exactly, which I've done with themes many times.
The recommended photoblogs (Click, Grain, Monolit, Nashita, and others) don't have the sidebar with recent thumbnails.
Perhaps I should wait and see your 2.7 release (I haven't been able to find it yet) but I assume it doesn't come with a theme and I don't see how it's going to know what theme I'm using and whether it will work with that theme.
The fixes I've seen around on the forums haven't worked for me. The snippet you provided in another thread on this forum gave me an error with some themes, and with others made my post photos disappear or made my "previous" and "next" buttons malfunction.
Another snippet provided by a user depended upon the theme having an "archive.php" file which didn't exist with some themes I liked and didn't work with others.
The desire to have recent thumbs on the side is a very popular one, and it would be cool to have a solution for that more or less out of the box.
Thanks for a very cool plugin, that I hope I can get working for my collaborative-art site.

query_posts is most likely how it's done, but you have to be careful where and how you use it.
Since you have to reset The Loop to display those thumbnails, make sure you do it after your main loop. If you don't, that could explain your back/next malfunction.

Thanks for the info Jeff, but I don't really know what you're talking about. There's no loop in my sidebar. I'm not a php programmer, and while it's not beyond my ability to learn, I was hoping not to have to become one just to use a wordpress plugin.

Johannes,
Would you consider sharing the code for a photoblog using six (or so) recent thumbnails?
I'm still looking.
Thanks
