Hi!

I have recently discovered YAPB, and found it really useful.
So I installed WP, checked the requirements, uploaded the plugin, activated it, and it works!

But...

I don't get any thumbnail!
I think the fault is PhpThumb's, but I can't find what's wrong with the whole thing...

I've run the test page that comes with it, but I didn't get to any solution...

This is my photoblog, these is the phpinfo (I hope they can be someway useful), and this is an example of what I mean with "thumbnails won't work"....
Also the YAPB Diagnostics...

Please please please please please, help me! Very Happy

PS: it's not a problem with the Grain theme, because I can't see any thumbnail at all, even in the cache folder...

Guest

just a rought guess. and you've probably done it.
but did you CHMOD 777 the cache folder?

Yes, I've done it...
Hi oxoxo -

Sorry - That really seems to be a phpThumb issue in combination with your system. I've updated the YapbThumbnailer script - It now additionally outputs the phpThumb debug messages if the image generation fails.

Please download the newest release (1.4.3) and just upload the YapbThumbnailer.php - If you give me feedback, i could have a look.

Sorry, but I can't see any change Shocked

I mean: I don't get any debug message...
Hi oxoxo -

Just call the URL of one of the thumbnails directly and you'll see what i mean:

http://vox.altervista.org/avoideyecontac...&h=90&zc=1

I'm currently trying to understand the phpThumb error.

Hi oxoxo -

Your provider didn't correctly set the DOCUMENT_ROOT CGI var for your webhost - as far as i've recherched, phpThumb seems to fail on finding your source image because of that.

IS: /var/www/html
SHOULD BE: /membri/vox

If you can't convince your provider to correct that setting in any way, i'll take a look what can be done to create a workaround to this issue without touching the phpThumb code. But i wouldn't be happy.

Hi oxoxo -

Have a look at the 1.4.4 release - It *should* work on your host even if the DOCUMENT_ROOT setting isn't right. Even if this might be a workaround for this particular problem you SHOULD ask your provider to fix that problem since alot of php scripts rely on that setting.

Thank you for taking the time to find a solution to this problem.

I'm going to ask the provider to solve this problem, and in the meanwhile I'll try this new version to see if the problem is solved.

Thank you again! Very Happy
It doesn't seem to work...

Maybe, I've done something wrong... Confused

Hi oxoxo -

Please make sure you uploaded all files - This URL should work:

http://vox.altervista.org/avoideyecontac...&h=90&zc=1

But i get a 404 File not found.

I've downloaded and uploaded all files again and it still doesn't work.
I can't see any YapbThumbnailer.php file in the archive, is that alright? Confused

Anyway, don't get crazy about this thing: I would like to get the whole thing to work, but I'll survive if it doesn't work too! Very Happy
You've already helped me much, I'll wait for an answer from the admin of my host, to see if they can (and want to) correct that document_root thing...
That may be because i've managed to forget to include it in the last release Sad

Since there won't be any thumbnails without that script i decided to include it again Wink If you'd download the new zip you should be able to see thumbnails (If i were right in the first place).

It works!!

Thank you sooooooooooo much!!

Very Happy
I thank you - Thanks to your feedback, YAPB is a little bit better now.

Happy photoblogging!
